​MyResource Privacy Policy

MyResource is a GenAI assistant intended to help students with answers to questions about Penn State information and services, and with access to resources for academic support, mental health and well-being, career services, cultural and advocacy services, and information and links to other support, services, and information about Penn State. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use the personal information that we collect from or about you when you use MyResource.

You may access MyResource without logging in with your Penn State credentials.  If you remain anonymous and access MyResource without logging in with your Penn State credentials, we may collect the following information about you:

• Campus, if you chose to select a campus within the Sign in or select my campus option;
• Chat questions and answers.

If you log into MyResource with your Penn State account, answers to your questions and other outputs may be personalized to you and your campus.  Your inputs and information may be used in de-identified or aggregate forms for the business purposes of streamlining access to student resources, building upon current students care resources to meet needs, foster well-being, support academic and personal goals, and enhancing services and delivery.  We do not generally share your information and inputs in identifiable form.

Your personal information is not used to train MyResource. All Penn State data is stored in a separate environment and not commingled with data from non-Penn State sources; however, MyResource learns from prompts that you may answer to help MyResource clarify your questions and provide you with more accurate answers.  For example, responding to clarifying questions such as, “Do you mean the Career Fair or the Involvement Fair?” is teaching MyResource that these are different events.
